The taste that many yearn for is now available at all times even if you cannot go on a trip just now.
The recipe for biltong comes from South-Africa, where it is a staple snack. It is usually prepared by seasoning a thick slice of beef, drying it in hot air and then slicing it thinly. It is also prepared like jerky by slicing beef into thin strips, seasoning them with spices and then drying them in hot air – this way the snakcs are ready to eat after the drying process.
Coriander is the main spice used for seaoning biltong and you can taste it right away. Coriander seeds are used, which have a different taste and flavour than fresh coriander (which some people dislike). You can also taste some chilies in the biltong, but not enough to make it spicy – even children eat it with with pleasure.
